With AVID’s support, Mia graduated with honors and begins university taller than me—but even more impressive is the woman she’s becoming.

On the final day of Hispanic Heritage Month, I had the honor of attending the rebranding launch of the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs (ICHA)—a vibrant celebration of our culture, resilience, and future. Governor Brad Little officially declared September 15 to October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Idaho, saying it was “just in the nick of time.” That moment felt like a warm embrace of our community’s contributions.

This past weekend, I had the honor of attending the Latinos Unidos Conference: Unidos Venceremos, organized by PODER of Idaho. It was more than a gathering—it was a powerful reminder of what it means to show up for one another, to learn in community, and to build toward justice with intention and heart.

This week, I had the privilege of participating in the Andrus Center for Public Policy’s Women and Leadership Conference, held September 23–24, 2025, at Boise State University. I am deeply grateful to the American Association of University Women for their support, which made it possible for me to attend, engage, and grow.

This past Saturday marked a beautiful milestone for Libélula Primary Care and our Boise community: the first-ever Walk with a Doc Boise. Under clear skies and ideal fall weather, a small but mighty group gathered at Shoreline Park to walk, talk, and connect—united by a shared commitment to health and belonging.
