What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care is a membership-based healthcare model that removes insurance barriers. Patients pay a predictable monthly fee for comprehensive, personalized care—including longer visits, same or next-day access, and direct communication with their physician.
Is DPC the same as health insurance?
No. DPC is not insurance and does not meet ACA requirements unless combined with group cost sharing plans. It’s best used alongside a health insurance plan or cost-sharing program for hospitalizations or emergencies.

Who can join Libélula Primary Care?
We welcome adults of all backgrounds, with a special focus on BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+, and small businesses. Household members can also be added. Medicare beneficiaries are also welcome, though DPC is not covered by Medicare.
How do I become a patient?

Can I use my HSA for DPC membership?
Yes! Starting January 1, 2026, Health Spending Accounts (HSAs) can be used for DPC memberships.
Do you diagnose and treat mental health diagnosis?
Yes. At Libélula, we believe mental health is essential to whole-person care. Your membership includes:
• Screening and evaluation for common concerns like anxiety, depression, and stress
• Supportive counseling during life transitions, grief, or burnout
• Referrals to affirming therapists and specialists when needed
• Medication management when appropriate, with a focus on shared decision-making and eveidence-based medicine
• Culturally responsive care that honors your lived experience and identity
Do you provide weight management services?
Yes. Weight management support is included in all your Libélula Primary Care membership. We focus on optimizing lifestyle changes, and when clinically appropriate, we can prescribe weight loss medications with discounted labs and medication. For complete weight loss management with nutrition and coaching support and most medications included upgrade to Weight Management Complete.
Is weight loss medication included in the membership?
Most weight loss medications are included in Weight Management Complete and first three months of Libélula Concierge. While weight management services are included, the cost of weight loss medications like GLP-1 (semaglutide and tirzepatide) is not except limited coverage through Weight Management Complete membership and first three months of Libélula Concierge membership. However, we can help you access discounted pricing options through our pharmacy partners for all memberships.
How is this different from a typical weight loss clinic?
Libélula’s approach is rooted in long-term care, not quick fixes. You’ll receive physician-led guidance, accountability, and support for the different parameters of weight care.
Do you offer care for hormone health, men's, perimenopause, menopause, and affirming?
Yes. Hormone care is included in all adult memberships (18+), with a focus on affirming, evidence-based support for all genders and life stages. Labs and medications are discounted and not included in the memberships.
What makes the Libélula Concierge plan different?
Libélula Concierge members receive priority scheduling, advanced preventive labs, and deeper personalization—ideal for those who want proactive, high-touch care.
Can I upgrade from a standard plan to Concierge later?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time if you’d like expanded access, deeper prevention, or more personalized support.
How does Libélula support small business teams?
We offer tailored plans that include bilingual onboarding, wellness-focused care, and continuity that helps reduce absenteeism and improve retention.
Can I offer this as a benefit without traditional insurance?
Yes. Libélula can serve as a standalone or supplemental benefit, especially for small teams that want to invest in accessible, high-quality care without the complexity of insurance plans. The membership does not meet ACA requirements for insurance.
Is there a minimum number of employees required?
No minimum is required. We work with businesses of all sizes—from solo entrepreneurs to growing teams.
